Indian Railways Invites Bids To Monetise New Jalpaiguri’s Barrack Colony

Indian Railways has issued a tender for the redevelopment of the existing railway housing complex and the development of commercial and residential space located in Barrack Colony, New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) said in a statement today that the offer carries a reserve price of Rs 26.7 crore for the area of ​​16,222 square meters to let for 99 years.

The online pre-bid meeting was held with the participation of prominent national and local developers. The deadline for submitting electronic tenders is January 28, 2022, specified the ad hoc vehicle (SPV) of the Ministry of Railways.

The proposed land is square in shape and well connected to the rail and road network. The site is in a prime location, surrounded by important landmarks such as a government girls’ high school to the west, railway offices to the east, and is connected to the main city road on the outskirts. The total land area available is 21,963 square meters, the rental area is 16,222 square meters, with an authorized Floor Area Index (FSI) of 3.0. The redevelopment works of the construction of 96 type II housing units for railway employees are to be completed over a period of two years.
