Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Dehradun on December 4 to address a rally and to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth a total of Rs 30,000 crore.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who visited the rally venue, Parade Ground, on Monday to assess preparations, said the prime minister would lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 26,000 crore and inaugurate projects worth Rs 4,000 crore.

He said party workers are extremely enthusiastic about the prime minister’s proposed visit, with meetings held at district and neighborhood levels to assess preparations for the rally.

BJP national president JP Nadda also reviewed preparations for the rally a few days ago, he said.

Cabinet Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, President of Pradesh BJP Madan Kaushik, IG Intelligence Sanjay Gunjyal, District Magistrate R Rajesh Kumar and SSP Janmejay Khanduri accompanied Mr. Dhami to the parade ground.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi had come to Rishikesh on October 4 to inaugurate an oxygen plant at the Institute of Medical Sciences of India and traveled to Kedarnath on November 5 to unveil the statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya.

Assembly polls in Uttarakhand are expected early next year.
