11 Fully Vaccinated Army Officers Test Covid Positive In Indore


The IIM administration has decided to stop the offline courses.


11 fully vaccinated Indian army officers, who were pursuing a certificate course in business management at the Indian Institute of Management – Indore, have tested positive for Covid in the past four days. All are asymptomatic and have been isolated at the military hospital in the cantonment town of Mhow in Indore. No less than 65 contacts of these infected agents were found and their samples were taken for testing.

60 army officers from across the country were pursuing the six-month Certificate in Business Management for Defense Officers (CCBMDO) course at IIM-Indore. As of September, 30 Indian Army officers at Army War College in Mhow had tested positive for Covid-19. All were fully vaccinated and asymptomatic.

The IIM administration had decided to stop the offline courses and run them virtually after four fully vaccinated army officers tested positive yesterday, the PTI news agency reported.

“As a precaution, we have decided to run courses online instead of offline for a batch of 60 participants in the CCBMDO course after some of them tested positive for the pandemic,” said the director of IIM Indore, Himanshu Rai.

In another development, a fully vaccinated 69-year-old woman died from COVID-19 infection in Indore on Saturday. With the latest death, the number of people who have died from COVID-19 in Indore district has so far risen to 1,393.

22 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in Madhya Pradesh in the past 24 hours, with 13 new cases reported in Indore, five in Bhopal, three in Raisen and one in Jabalpur with a positivity rate of 0.03% . The tally of positive cases reported so far in the state has reached 7,934,074.
