New Delhi: Pension regulator PFRDA has launched a campaign under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to promote pensions and retirement planning. The pension regulator said Thursday it would observe October 1, 2021 as Diwas of the National Pension System (NPS) for a worry-free “azad” retirement.
The Pension Fund Development and Regulator is promoting the campaign on its social media platforms.
The finance ministry said in a statement: “The pension regulator aims to encourage every citizen to plan for the creation of a financial cushion to ensure a financially healthy future after retirement.”
The ministry added that NPS subscribers will enjoy the benefits, the power of funding now, and reap many benefits after retirement.
PFRDA President Supratim Bandyopadhyay said: “Through this campaign, we want to raise awareness about retirement planning. As a regulator, our main goal is to cover all eligible citizens under a pension scheme in order to realize the vision of a pension company for India. “
