Chandigarh:

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stated that residing in a relationship is morally and socially unacceptable, whereas dismissing a petition filed by a runaway couple in search of safety.

Petitioners Gulza Kumari, 19, and Gurwinder Singh, 22 in the petition had acknowledged that they lived collectively and meant to marry shortly.

They alleged hazard to their lives from Ms. Kumari’s dad and mom.

“In fact, the petitioners in the garb of filing this petition are seeking the seal of approval of their relationship, which is morally and socially unacceptable and a protection order cannot be approved in the petition. The petition is dismissed accordingly, “Judge HS Madaan stated in his May 11 order.

According to the petitioner’s lawyer, JS Thakur, Mr. Singh and Ms. Kumari lived collectively in the Tarn Taran district.

He stated that Ms. Kumari’s dad and mom, who’re in Ludhiana, didn’t approve of their relationship.

The couple had been unable to marry as a result of Ms. Kumari’s paperwork, which have particulars of her age, had been in her household’s possession, Thakur added.
